Technology for more efficient dental care

The dental world continues to change and improve. Luckily we have access to modern technology which means new ways of providing good dental health care.

iTero machine

iTero lets us replace impression trays by producing digital 3D models of your mouth and teeth. The system works by scanning each tooth and adding it to a virtual model that can be viewed from any angle. We use iTero for any treatment that would require impressions. Models produce with iTero are accurate and can be shared with other dental professionals and dental laboratories.

Digital X-rays

Digital radiology is replacing film images in dental offices. This technology means being able to capture images and instantly show them on a computer. It means using less radiology than traditionally. And it’s more comfortable in that you don’t have to hold bite-wings in your mouth.

Panoramic X-rays

Panoramic X-rays are two-dimensional (2-D) dental x-ray examinations that capture the entire mouth in a single image, including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures and tissues. They can be shown and stored on the dental office’s computer.

Imagine a beam of laser light solving a dental problem! Laser technology is now used for detection and treatment of oral disease, treating gum disease, detecting cancer, and pinpointing tooth decay in its early stages. Lasers can precisely remove tissue, seal canker sores, and even treat small cavities.

Dental technology is always changing. Our team at Redcliff Family Dental Centre continues to study and keep up with the ever-improving industry to better take care of your dental needs.
